Parso Privacy Policy

Pixanow LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Parso mobile application (the “App”) available at parso.ai. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide

  • Account info: email address, password (hashed), display name, and optional profile photo when you sign up.
  • Content you save: links, notes, images, tags, categories, and any other content you save into your Parso collection.
  • Personalization: preferences and interests you choose during onboarding or in settings.
  • Support communications: messages, bug reports, and feedback you send us.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Usage analytics: events such as sign-ups, saves, searches, premium purchases, and feature usage. Stored in our analytics_events table.
  • Error and crash logs: error type, message, stack trace, and device context to help us fix bugs. Stored in our error_logs table.
  • Device info: device model, OS version, app version, and language.
  • Purchase info: subscription status and entitlements (managed by RevenueCat — we do not receive or store your credit card number).

c. Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect precise location.
  • We do not access your contacts, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature (e.g. photo upload).
  • We do not sell your personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate Parso (sync your saves across devices, search, recommendations).
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
  • Process subscriptions and unlock premium features.
  • Improve the App by analyzing aggregated usage and fixing crashes.
  • Send important service messages (e.g. password reset, security notices).
  • Send optional product updates if you opt in.

3. Legal Bases (GDPR / UK)

We process personal data under one or more of: (a) contract — to deliver the App you signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and improve features; (c) consent — for optional marketing or analytics where required; (d) legal obligation.

4. Third-Party Services

We share the minimum data needed with the following processors:

  • Supabase (database, auth, storage) — Stores your account, saved content, analytics events, and error logs. Data shared: email, hashed password, saved content, usage events, error logs.
  • RevenueCat — Manages subscriptions and entitlements. Data shared: anonymous app user ID, purchase receipts, subscription status.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — Processes payments. Payment info handled by Apple/Google — we never see your card.
  • Expo / EAS (build & updates) — App distribution and over-the-air updates. Data shared: app version, build metadata.

Each processor has its own privacy policy. We have data processing agreements where required.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure located in the United States.
  • Passwords are hashed; data in transit uses TLS.
  • Row-level security is enforced so users can only read their own data.
  • No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: kept while your account is active.
  • Analytics events: retained for up to 24 months in identifiable form, then aggregated or deleted.
  • Error logs: retained for up to 12 months.
  • Backups: may persist for up to 30 days after deletion.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export your saved content.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@parso.ai. You can also delete your account in-app from Settings → Account → Delete Account.

8. Children

Parso is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us at privacy@parso.ai and we’ll delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data is processed in the United States. If you access the App from outside the US, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@parso.ai.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The “Last Updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
